William Wolfe, 34, of Henderson, Texas, drew a romantic candle-lit bubble bath for his wife, she says. But as Teresa Wolfe reclined in the water, she says her husband knocked a radio into the tub.
"She caught the radio before it hit the water and threw it out of the way," a police report says. She said her husband's reaction was "not normal, and she became suspicious."
After the incident she checked their computer and found her husband "had accessed Web sites dealing with bathtub electrocution two days prior" and called police.
Wolfe, a hospital nurse, has been charged with second-degree attempted murder.
A hospital spokeswoman said the staff was "shocked at what has happened."

British robber who stole 115,000 pounds ($211,300) in cash from a bank broke back in a week later to give most of it back. The thief got into the Barclays Bank in east London, smashed a window and helped himself to the cash in the ATM machine. A week later baffled staff called detectives to say the robber had returned 104,000 pounds. "We were contacted by staff saying a large amount of cash had been found in a black bag in the premises," a police spokesman said. Police are probing whether the bizarre double break-in, thought to be unique in Britain, was an inside job, the Sun newspaper said. "We know we offer cashback facilities but we didn't expect anything like this," a Barclays insider told the paper. (

(AP) The state's top civil rights official has ruled that taverns cannot offer discounts to women on "ladies nights," agreeing with a man who claimed such gender-based promotions discriminated against men. David R. Gillespie said it was not fair for women to get into the Coastline nightclub for free and receive discounted drinks while men paid a $5 cover charge and full price for drinks.
David, who hasn't had a date in 12 years say's that paying half price to buy a girl a drink on Ladies night is just plain cheap, and unfair because if a lady wants to buy him a drink it costs her twice as much. "This unfair balance just starts every relationship I've had off on the wrong food" said David. When asked why not try meeting women outside of bars and leaving Ladie's Night alone, he responded "Because, I can only talk to women when I'm drunk" - ah, what a charmer.

A band of drunk Dutch students taking a break from exams had to be rescued at sea after a raft they built from empty jerrycans went adrift on the North Sea, the Hague police said Friday. "The students had made a kind of floating island and ventured out to sea under the influence of alcohol. They were carried into the open sea by the current and had to be rescued," a police statement said. The group of 15 to 20 students was let off with little more than a stern warning from police who accused them of "irresponsible behavior." (Reuters)
